Everton fan goes viral for smacking Crystal Palace player on the bum

Everton will be playing Premier League football in 2022/23.

Frank Lampard‘s side mathematically avoided relegation to the Championship on Thursday evening thanks to an epic 3-2 comeback victory over Crystal Palace.

Things looked bleak for Everton at the end of the first half, as the visitors were 2-0 ahead courtesy of goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Jordan Ayew.

At that point, relegation looked a distinct possibility, but the Toffees came out swinging in the second half to record the most important victory in their recent history.

Michael Keane, Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all found the back of the during a pulsating final 45 minutes on Merseyside.

The fans inside Goodison Park certainly played their part as well, although one of them got a tad carried away during the match.

After a heated tussle between Dele Alli and Joachim Andersen by the touchline, one supporter became enraged and decided to smack the Palace defender on the bum.

And no, we’re not joking.

Needless to say, the footage has gone viral on social media…

Well, you certainly don’t see that every Premier League game!

Of course, we’re not condoning the behaviour in the video above, as fans can’t go around physically hitting players when they feel like it – even if the contact made was weak.

It remains to be seen whether Everton will investigate the flashpoint.

The behaviour of supporters at Goodison on Thursday has been a hot topic of debate after Palace manager Patrick Vieira clashed with one following a pitch invasion at full-time.
