Everton: £20m star 'would certainly consider' Goodison Park move

Everton may be able to sign Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks this summer, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

Winks found his game time limited at Spurs last season, and a move away from north London appears to be on the cards.

The England international made 19 league appearances last term, but only nine of them were starts as he fell behind the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur and Oliver Skipp in the pecking order.

Winks did not start a single top-flight match after February as Antonio Conte’s side found form in the final weeks of the campaign to secure a top-four finish.

According to the Evening Standard, he has been told that he can leave the club in the upcoming transfer window. Tottenham are looking to receive around £20m before letting him depart.

Brown has claimed that Everton have shown an interest in Winks before, and he thinks that they could make a move for the diminutive midfielder, although he is not sure whether they will be willing to meet Spurs’ asking price.

Talking about Winks, Brown told GIVEMESPORT: “I know Everton looked at him before. I know they’re looking for that kind of profile of midfielder. That’s a club that he would certainly consider.

“Everton might find it difficult to pay £20m for Harry Winks, but there’s probably a deal to be done there. So, I would think, all things considered, he’s more likely to go than not.”

Tottenham and Everton have done business in the recent past, as the Toffees signed Dele Alli from their Premier League counterparts in January.
