Euro 2022 in Sheffield – semi-final tickets available today for England v Sweden

Bramall Lane in Sheffield is the venue for England Women’s semi-final against Sweden on Tuesday night. A big crowd is expected to cheer on the Lionesses, and limited tickets were made available today from the official Euro 2022 site.

The match, at the historic home of Sheffield United, may see a crowd of over 32,000, with the the winners going on to play in the final at Wembley on July 31. Kick-off on Tuesday is at 8pm, with coverage on BBC One starting from 7:30pm.

UEFA has announced a "very limited" number of tickets for both semi-finals will be going on sale from 10am on Monday. They are expected to sell out fast.

With the tournament nearing its conclusion, demand for tickets has been huge. Euro 2022 has already been confirmed as the best attended iteration in the competition’s history, and there will no doubt be plenty of people hoping to snap up some late tickets for this week’s semi-finals.

The Lionesses were victorious against one of the pre-tournament favourites Spain in their quarter-final in Brighton on Wednesday night, scoring an 84th-minute equaliser after Spain had looked the better side for the opening 60 minutes before England manager Sarina Wiegmann made changes.

Ella Toone made the score 1-1 after pouncing in the six-yard box with less than 10 minutes of normal time to play before England got into the ascendancy in extra-time. This culminated in a 25-yard bullet from Georgia Stanway in the first half of extra-time which saw the Lionesses through to the final four.

The other semi-final will see Germany take on France. That match kicks off at 8pm on Wednesday, July 27.
