Eugenie Bouchard to skip Wimbledon over lack of ranking points on offer
The 28-year-old is looking to maximise her use of protected ranking entries following her shoulder surgery last year.
The player, who slumped to world number 253 in the WTA rankings in January, admitted her decision to withdraw from Wimbledon was due to the grand slam losing ranking points after opting to ban players from Russia and Belarus.

Bouchard's best career performance at a grand slam took place at Wimbledon back in 2014 when she reached the final but lost 6-3 6-0 to Petra Kvitova.
Since then, the Canadian has struggled in grand slams and has only made one quarter-final at the 2015 Australian Open.
