Erling Haaland stuns young Man City fan with unexpected gesture

Manchester City suffered a painful defeat to Aston Villa last week but one young supporter enjoyed the best night of his life.

Harry Hayes was in the crowd for his first Premier League away game as an early present after knowing exactly what he wanted for his eighth birthday. And despite the disappointment of the result that night, the youngster got more than his family thought possible after sharing a moment with Erling Haaland.

"Since Haaland has come to City he has just turned Man City mad, which I'm sure every other kid has as well," said dad Mark. "His bedroom is full of him. He's got Haaland bedding and he's got a headband waiting for his hair to grow just as long as him. He's growing his hair.

"Everything he is doing is for Erling Haaland. I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and he said he wanted to go and watch City."

Mark had teed up the tickets with Baguley and Brooklands Supporters Club, but Harry had bigger ambitions. His older brother Kailem has travelled with his dad on away trips for years and has managed to pick up the shirts from four players so despite being warned how impossible it would be Harry set his sights on getting the No.9 at Aston Villa.

The closeness of the away end to the pitch at the ground meant that Harry could watch Haaland up close in the warm-up, where the Norwegian gave him a wave. After the game, as the City striker came over to apologise for the performance he pointed at Harry as he threw his shirt up to him.
