Erling Haaland can move closer to another goal record for Man City vs Manchester United

Erling Haaland has the chance to break several Premier League records this season, and you would be a brave person to bet against the Norwegian frontman doing exactly that. Following his summer switch from Borussia Dortmund, the 22-year-old has registered 11 goals and one assist in seven Premier League matches. He's been unstoppable.

Although he failed to score against Bournemouth, City still ran riot and secured a 4-0 victory. Even though he didn't get on the scoresheet himself, Haaland did pick up an assist in the win over the Cherries, and occupied at least two opposing defenders on a number of occasions.

While many expected the striker to hit the ground running in England, and were confident that he would quickly adapt to the league, not many expected him to start quite as well as he has done. At the end of the season, Haaland may well have broken as many as 10 records.

The striker could set a new record for the most Premier League goals in a season, the most goals in single Champions league campaign, the most goals scored in a calendar month and many, many more. While some of them are perhaps unrealistic, others, given the way the Norwegian international has started the season, look very achievable.

One record that the former Dortmund man will be keeping a close eye on is the title of scoring the most goals in consecutive Premier League games — currently held by Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

The England international broke former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy's record as he became the first player to score in 11 Premier League matches in a row. He netted the Foxes' goal in his side's 1-1 draw against United in 2015.
