Erik ten Hag will 'throw players out' at Manchester United says Rafael van der Vaart

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has sent a strong warning to Manchester United's players about Erik ten Hag.

MEN Sport revealed last week that Ajax were expecting Ten Hag to leave at the end of this season. The Dutchman has already been interviewed for the vacant position at Old Trafford.

Speaking on Z Select, the ex-Ajax man said: "Ten Hag to Manchester United? It’s nice.

"You don’t let a club like Manchester United wait. These players can't have any excuses anymore.

"They made so many managers leave while they are playing so bad. Now they get a manager who will be very clear and will present his plan. Those who won’t cooperate will get thrown out."

Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani are among the players expected to leave the club before the start of the new campaign. Meanwhile, MEN Sport understands United will prioritise a central midfield signing in the summer.
