Erik ten Hag told Ineos have 'decided' on Man United sack as statement wait continues

Manchester United's co-owners have decided on Erik ten Hag's fate even though they have not officially announced yet, according to Liverpool icon Graeme Souness.

Ten Hag entered the October international break with a target on his back after a poor start to the Premier League season. On Monday, MEN Sport reported that Thomas Tuchel is being lined up as an alternative to Ten Hag while two meetings took place at the beginning of the week where the first-team performances were discussed.

Since then, there has been radio silence from the club regarding Ten Hag's future and the Manchester Evening News are led to believe the assumption is that he will be in charge for the Premier League clash with Brentford. While no official line on Ten Hag's future has been communicated, Souness has told William Hill’s new podcast, Three Up Front that the decision has already been made one way or the other.

"When it comes to whether or not they keep Erik ten Hag, I would think the owners have made their minds up already – unless United turn a major corner soon," he said. "I don’t know what to make of United anymore.

"We’ve been having the same conversations about them for a decade, but I haven’t seen any improvements, not even under the new ownership. I thought they’d be better this season but they haven’t improved at all.

"And that’s just the playing staff. I’m looking at the people higher up and wondering, are they going to turn Man Utd around?
