A trusted source has confirmed that Tyrell Malacia will become Erik ten Hag’s first Manchester United signing following an agreement over his contract.
Ten Hag’s ideas for his squad at United are already beginning to come together. The Dutchman will no doubt be keen on putting his stamp on the side.
Indeed, improving the squad seems a must, following United’s sixth-placed finish last term. That is only the second time the Red Devils have finished outside the league’s top five in the last five seasons.
Ten Hag’s desire to land Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong is obvious, and he would be a top acquisition.
There are clearly a lot of other potential deals in the works, too. One of those is reportedly over the line, that of Feyenoord left-back Malacia.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the 22-year-old has agreed personal terms with United.
Malacia – who will be Ten Hag’s first signing – is reportedly going to cost an initial €15million (£12.9million) rising to €17million (£14.6million).
United have snatched the youngster from under Lyon’s noses, as they were initially in talks with him.
Malacia seems a good acquisition for United. At just 22 year of age, he is sure to have a lot of good football ahead of him.
