Erik ten Hag rebuffs Jadon Sancho question as £47m Manchester United signing criticised

Manchester United desperately need a win to restore confidence at Old Trafford and beyond.

Erik ten Hag and his underperforming side - who sit 10th in the Premier League standings after seven games - will continue the campaign against Brentford this afternoon. Sancho's exile is certain to reach the five-week mark, after Ten Hag declined to discuss the winger's absence from the first-team squad during his latest pre-match press conference.

Sancho has not played for United since he came on in the comeback win against Nottingham Forest on August 26 and he was dropped from the matchday squad at Arsenal eight days later.

Ten Hag said Sancho's omission was due to training form, which Sancho then disputed in his now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) in which he accused Ten Hag of lying.

United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been criticised by TV pundits following his latest error.
