Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will preview the Europa League meeting with Real Betis in a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

United were defeated 7-0 by Liverpool at the weekend and Ten Hag will want to see a positive response from his team in a competition they are among the favourites to win.

United overcame Barcelona 4-3 across two legs in the Europa League play-off tie last month and backed that achievement up with victories over Newcastle and West Ham in the Carabao Cup final and FA Cup last 16 respectively.

However, Sunday's mauling at Anfield has soured the feel-good factor around the club and United will be keen to return to winning ways at the first time of asking.

Erik ten Hag slated the United players for failing to "fulfil their jobs" and "stick together" during their astonishing capitulation against Liverpool.

United were thrashed 7-0 for only the fourth time in their history at Anfield in what was their first defeat by the scoreline since 1931, despite trailing only 1-0 at the pause.

Liverpool scored twice in the first five minutes of the second half to kill the contest and added four more goals to inflict United's worst defeat in the Premier League era.
