New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has joined Twitter but fans have been left in the dark by his profile being locked and without any information.
United confirmed the appointment of the Dutchman ahead of the end of the campaign after the 52-year-old met with United bosses in March to talk about becoming their new manager. Ten Hag attended his first United match in person as he watched them lose against Crystal Palace on the final day of the season.
The new United boss has now joined Twitter, with the @eriktenhag account being verified by the social media giant – with his profile also showing that the account joined Twitter on May 2022, as his appointment at Old Trafford was confirmed.
However, the profile remains locked and is yet to follow any other accounts. Twitter does show that one account follows the new Ten Hag profile, but due to its privacy settings – the identity of the account cannot be clarified. What is clear is that the one follower is not Manchester United ’s official account as private accounts still would show in follower lists of non-private accounts, such as United’s.
