Erik ten Hag explains why he needs 13 regular players as Copenhagen manager aims bizarre dig at Manchester United

Manchester United are back in action this evening as they face FC Copenhagen at Parken Stadium in their fourth Champions League game of the season.

Erik ten Hag's side came out 1-0 winners in the reverse fixture a fortnight ago, Harry Maguire scoring the only goal and Andre Onana saving an added-time penalty. They then lost consecutive home games before beating Fulham on Saturday.

They did so without Marcus Rashford but the forward was spotted in training on Tuesday and is fit for this evening. United have suffered a fresh double injury blow, however, with Ten Hag confirming he doesn't expect either Casemiro or Lisandro Martinez back before Christmas.

Erik ten Hag has suggested United need a core group of up to 13 players to embark on a winning run.

United have won eight games and lost eight games this season, with five of their losses coming in the Premier League while they have been beaten at Old Trafford five times.

The United squad has been beset by injury and Ten Hag revealed Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez are not expected to return before Christmas.

Tyrell Malacia has been sidelined since pre-season due to knee surgery while Luke Shaw has been out since August 19 with a hamstring tear.
