Eoin Morgan: Former England captain announces his retirement from all forms of cricket

Eoin Morgan has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The former England captain initially retired from international cricket in 2022 and continued to compete in the The Hundred competition during the summer. Ad Morgan led England to World Cup glory in 2019 and oversaw the team’s rise to the top of the one-day and T20 rankings.

Morgan initially represented Ireland before switching allegiances to England in 2009 and being named one-day captain in 2014.

He captained England in 126 ODIs and 72 T20s, and won 16 test caps. The 36-year-old is England's top scoring ODI player with 6,957 runs, and the country's second highest in T20s with 2,458.
