Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, yesterday, unveiled Fidelis Ilechukwu as its new technical adviser for the 2023/2023 season. The unveiling was held at the administrative office of the club in Enugu.

In attendance at the event were Rangers Administrative Secretary, Ferdinand Ugwuarua, Ex-Rangers and Green Eagles Skipper/Coach, Chairman Christian Chukwu, as well as other club executives and administrators.

Ilechukwu said he was honoured to be at the club, pointing out that Rangers International is a prestigious club in Nigeria.

“I have accepted all the terms and conditions with humility and understanding to make sure we take Rangers to where it belongs.”

Ilechukwu came to limelight as coach of MFM of Lagos, a team he guided from the lower divisions to the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL). He has also Heartland FC of Owerri and Plateau United.

Congratulating the new coach, Ugwuarua, said, “the appointment of Ilechukwu was a new dawn for the club.

“We took the resignation of Abdul Maikaba in good faith and then we went ahead to appoint our new manager.

“Today marks the active and formal engagement of the new technical adviser for our Club (Fidelis Ilechukwu), who has just signed a two-year contract with us,” he said.
