England XI vs Switzerland: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest
Gareth Southgate has had to deal with a number of dropouts during England’s first camp of 2022.
Through a mix of illness and injury, Southgate’s preparations for Saturday’s meeting with Switzerland at Wembley haven’t exactly been ideal, particularly with another game just around the corner on Tuesday.
Both full-backs areas have been decimated with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James and even Bukayo Saka dropping out, potentially leading to debuts for the likes of Kyle Walker-Peters and Tyrick Mitchell.
Elsewhere, Emile Smith Rowe is unlikely to feature having missed training, although the Arsenal man could be involved against the Ivory Coast on Tuesday. There is better news for club teammate Ben White, however, with the defender expected to start.
Raheem Sterling will almost certainly feature alongside Harry Kane, as has been a feature of Southgate’s England amid their success in recent years.
England XI (4-3-3): Pickford; Walker-Peters, Maguire, White, Shaw; Rice, Bellingham; Sterling, Mount, Foden; Kane.
Date and time: 5.30pm GMT on Saturday March 26, 2022
Venue: Wembley
