England XI vs Ivory Coast: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for international friendly

England hope to have Emile Smith Rowe available to face Ivory Coast on Tuesday after the Arsenal midfielder missed the win over Switzerland.

An injury kept the 21-year-old out of action for the 2-1 Wembley victory but he was pictured back in training on Sunday.

Gareth Southgate has also lost John Stones after the Manchester City defender pulled out of the friendly win due to a problem in the warm-up. The Manchester City man has returned to his club.

Elsewhere, the England boss has confirmed plans to make changes to his line-up for the friendly in the capital.

“We’ll make changes,” noted Southgate. “We think that’s the right thing to do.

“We want to keep all of the squad involved. I think that has been a strength for us. Players who come in perform well at the level and the team march on.

“With John, he just felt a bit of tightness before the game. We’re certain it’s not too serious. It could be that he’s okay before Tuesday.”

James Ward-Prowse, Tyrone Mings, Harry Maguire and Nick Pope all sat out the Switzerland match and are among the names likely to be drafted in.

Predicted England XI: Pope; Mings, Coady, Maguire; Ward-Prowse, Rice, Bellingham, Shaw; Sterling, Grealish; Watkins.
