England: Manu Tuilagi and Luke Cowan-Dickie not in training squad

Tuilagi is recovering from a hamstring injury he picked up before the Wales game and Cowan-Dickie is waiting to learn how serious his knee injury is that he picked up during Saturday’s win.

Lewis Ludlow has been called up as a replacement as Tom Curry is still dealing with the concussion he experienced in the same Six Nations game.

Alongside Tuilagi, Jonny Hill has been unable to take part in this Six Nations because of a high ankle stress fracture but the Exeter lock is to continue his rehab with England.

Uncapped London Irish prop Will Goodrick-Clarke has been included, but Elliot Daly and George Ford are omitted from the 25-man squad who will begin preparations for the clash with Ireland on March 12.

Eddie Jones has opted to keep Marcus Smith as the only specialist fly-half in camp, so Ford will be present to direct Leicester in Saturday’s match against Saracens.

Daly, meanwhile, has failed to leave his mark at outside centre and so Joe Marchant will be given another chance after being parachuted on to the bench against Wales once Tuilagi had been ruled out.

Wales stalwart Alun Wyn Jones is set to rejoin head coach Wayne Pivac’s squad as he continues the rehabilitation on his shoulder injury.

Jones was expected to miss the entire Six Nations campaign after suffering another blow to his shoulder.

However, the second-row will be a valuable presence in the squad as they look ahead to their game against France on Friday, March 11.

Wales’ title defence has been a rocky journey and they currently sit second last in the table after going down to England
