England legend delivers Simon Jordan verdict amid Coventry City takeover talk

Legendary England goalkeeper Peter Shilton has given his view on the possibility of Simon Jordan buying Coventry City.

Jordan has been public about his intentions through appearances on talkSPORT, admitting he is looking into purchasing the football club because it is such an attractive proposition.

His comments have sparked plenty of responses from the world of football, including from former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor. The latest former player to chip in is Shilton, who says there are "two ways" to look at Jordan's potential ownership.

Shilton, who was on the books at Coventry in 1995-96 but never played a first team game for the club, thinks Jordan will have benefited from his experience at Palace and will not make the same mistakes with the Sky Blues.

"There are two ways to look at Simon Jordan trying to buy Coventry City," Shilton tweeted. "Will he make the same mistakes he did at Crystal Palace or will he be wiser for that experience? I would think the second, once bitten etc etc."
