England defeat Bangladesh in Cup warm-up

Nat Sciver scored a century as England warmed up for the defence of their Women's World Cup title with a comprehensive 109-run victory over Bangladesh.

Sciver hit 108 from 101 balls in England's total of 9-310 from 50 overs before Bangladesh were bowled out for 201 in Lincoln, New Zealand.

The openers got England's innings off to a flying start, with Tammy Beaumont making 38 and Lauren Winfield-Hill 55 off only 43 balls before Sciver took over.

A late cameo from Emma Lamb, with 28 from 20 balls, then carried England to a sizeable total that Bangladesh never looked like getting anywhere near.

They, too, had a decent start to their innings as opener Shamima Sultana made 33 and number three Sharmin Akhter 81 but they fell well short, with Sciver, Charlie Dean and Freya Davies all taking two wickets.

The World Cup kicks off on Friday when New Zealand take on West Indies, while England begin their campaign against Australia the following day.
