England 0-4 Hungary: Gareth Southgate's side suffer worst home loss since 1928

England were crushed by Hungary in their UEFA Nations League match on Tuesday evening.

The Three Lions were looking to get their first win in the competition at Molineux.

But they were second best throughout as Hungary won 4-0.

Roland Sallai scored the opener after 16 minutes. He then doubled his side’s advantage in the 70th minute.

Zsolt Nagy scored a screamer with 10 minutes remaining to give his side a three-goal advantage. It was a cracker and you can watch it below…

It turned toxic inside the stadium boos erupted and fans chanted ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’ at Gareth Southgate.

It went from bad to worse shortly after when John Stones picked up a second yellow card and was sent off.

Stones protested the decision and he had every right to be annoyed. But his complaints fell on deaf ears and he was forced to make his way back to the dressing room.

The misery wasn’t over for England, though, as Dániel Gazdag made it 4-0 late on to round out the scoring.

England’s players were booed off as made their way off the pitch at the end of the game.

What a miserable end to the season for England.

While England were awful, credit must go to Hungary. They were brilliant on the evening and thoroughly deserving of their victory.

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar is just five months away.

Southgate’s side have just two more games before the competition kicks off.
