Enchanting light trail returns to Dunham Massey for Christmas 2024

The much-anticipated Christmas at Dunham Massey light trail is set to return to Greater Manchester.

The after-dark illuminated walk has become a must-see of the festive season, drawing Mancunians and visitors from further afield to experience its enchanting displays. This season's event will be running from Friday, November 15, 2024, through to Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Tickets are on sale now, and due to the event's popularity, customers are advised to book early to ensure the date and time slot of their choice.

The trail through the picturesque National Trust estate has been crafted by talented producers who are popular for their innovative designs. Visitors can expect an unforgettable outing with friends and family, highlighted by a special encounter with Father Christmas himself.

Among the new features this year will be colour-changing light battens stretching into the distance, a star-filled tunnel reflecting rainbow hues, and a glittering display across the lake. These additions promise to captivate and delight everyone.

Matthew Findlay, head of UK trails for Sony Music and Raymond Gubbay, said: “Last year’s feedback was immensely positive, and we’re excited for everyone to see our new installations for 2024.

“This year’s trail blends spectacular new creations with some classic favourites, promising a magical experience for visitors of all ages — a tradition cherished by many families.”

Georgina Lofthouse, general manager at National Trust Dunham Massey, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back for the 2024 season. Whether you’re continuing a cherished tradition or visiting for the first time, there’s something magical for every family member as our gardens transform into a sparkling wonderland.
