Emmerdale's Angelica 'setting Tom King up' as fans 'work out' real plan in shock twist

Emmerdale viewers believe they've figured out Angelica King's scheme for her cousin Tom.

The villainous Tom (played by James Chase) is currently incarcerated, having been arrested last week. As viewers will remember, he has spent the past year tormenting his wife Belle Dingle (portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper), manipulating and controlling her every action.

In one shocking episode, Belle was forced to defend herself against Tom with an axe - and despite initial hesitation, she eventually reported Tom's abusive behaviour to the police.

Believing he could evade justice, Tom hastily disposed of his tablet, which held damning evidence. However, this week saw justice finally catch up with Tom, much to the satisfaction of soap enthusiasts.

Despite being arrested and charged, Tom chose to become a fugitive and escape the country. His comeuppance wasn't far behind though, as the police managed to locate him, reports Leeds Live.

Tom is now behind bars, but in a surprising turn of events this week, it was revealed that Tom's cousin, Angelica (played by Rebecca Bakes) has been in contact with Tom, seemingly convinced of his guilt.

In Wednesday's episode (December 4), during a covert phone call, Tom asked Angelica to persuade her father Jimmy (Nick Miles) of his innocence and need for support. However, in what could be another dramatic twist, fans are convinced that Angelica is actually plotting against the nefarious Tom King.

On a popular Emmerdale Facebook fan group, one viewer expressed disbelief: "I can't believe Angelica answering Tom's phone call and chatting away with him like they're best buddies. Just daft in my eyes Angelica why."
