Emma Raducanu news: Face of new grassroots scheme a doubt for Indian Wells

British sensation Emma Raducanu has today signed a partnership deal with Vodafone to serve as the ambassador for Play Your Way To Wimbledon, which used to be known as the Road to Wimbledon.

This is great news for the 19-year-old, however on a sour note there are still big doubts over whether she’ll be able to play at Indian Wells this week.

Two weeks ago the US Open champion suffered a hip injury during her opening round match with Australian Daria Saville at the Abierto de Zapopan, meaning she had to miss out on the Monterrey Open, which was won by her opponent at Flushing Meadows last year, Leylah Fernandez.

However, her partnership with Vodafone has no doubt lifted her spirits as she’ll get to play a big part in getting more young people involved in tennis
