Ellen Keane and Róisín Ní Ríain ease into finals at Euro Para Swimming Championships

Ellen Keane has booked her place in the final of the Women's 100m Breaststroke SB8, while Róisín Ní Ríain is in contention for another medal at the European Para Swimming Championships in Madeira, Portugal.

A Paralympic gold medalist in the event at Tokyo 2020, Keane was fastest in her 100m breaststroke heat in a time of 1:25.09 on Saturday morning with the final slated for 5.30pm.

Ní Ríain, meanwhile, has been enjoying a memorable championships and already has two golds in the 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke as well as silver and bronze in the 100m butterfly and 400m freestyle.

On Saturday morning, in her final event in Portugal, the Limerick swimmer tackled the heats of the 200m Individual Medley and set the fastest time with a 2:33.63 to ease through to her sixth final of the championships which will take place at 6.40pm.

Also in final action this evening are Nicole Turner and Dearbhaile Brady, who are both involved in the 50m butterfly at 7.24pm.
