Eintracht Frankfurt beat Barcelona 3-2 to set up semi-final vs West Ham

Eintracht Frankfurt have pulled off one of the biggest European shocks in recent years.

Not many gave them a chance of beating Barcelona at Camp Nou, but the German side silenced their doubters with a historic 3-2 victory on Thursday evening.

Frankfurt will now meet West Ham United in the semi-finals of the Europa League following the English side’s superb 3-0 win away at Lyon.

The Bundesliga outfit were deserving of their triumph in Catalonia and if anything, the scoreline flattered the home side a tad.

Frankfurt tore Barcelona apart on the counter time and time again, which is something West Ham will have to watch out for in their upcoming meetings.

Oliver Glasner’s side raced into the lead in just the fourth-minute of play when Filip Kostic converted from the penalty spot following a clumsy foul in the box by Eric Garcia.

Barcelona had a few chances to equalise after, but they were stung just before the break by an absolute stunner from Rafael Santos Borre.

The Colombian forward collected the ball near the edge of the opposition’s box and then unleashed an unstoppable shot from 25 yards out.
