Eight Super League players banned by Match Review Panel as two face Grade E charges

Leeds Rhinos prop Matt Prior and Hull FC front-rower Kane Evans have been hit with bans following the latest round of Betfred Super League fixtures.

Both players were sinbinned for high tackles during last Thursday’s clash between the sides at Headingley, which Brett Hodgson’s men won 31-8.

Evans has been handed a two-match ban for a Grade B High Tackle (Reckless) while Prior has copped a one-game suspension, also for a Grade B High Tackle (Reckless).

Wigan Warriors prop Brad Singleton has been charged with a Grade B (Late Hit on Passer) and has been given a two-match penalty notice.

Wigan team-mate Kade Ellis, meanwhile, has been charged with Grade E (Punching) and has been referred to Tribunal following his sending off during Saturday’s 28-0 defeat at Catalans Dragons.

Dragons player Jordan Dezaria has similarly been charged with Grade E (Punching) which has also referred been to Tribunal.

Toulouse Olympique player Ellis Robson will serve a one-match ban for a Grade B Dangerous Contact (Crusher) during Friday’s defeat at relegation rivals Wakefield Trinity.

St Helens forward Sione Mata’utia will serve a two-game ban for a Grade B High Tackle (Reckless) during Friday’s 28-2 win over Warrington Wolves.

Wolves star Joe Philbin was charged with a Grade A Dangerous Contact (Drop Tackle) following the game but has given a 0 Match Penalty Notice.

The following players Will Dagger of Hull KR, and Catalans prop Gil Dudson, have been handed cautions with Other Contrary Behaviour.
