Egypt vs Senegal live stream: How can I watch World Cup play-off live on TV in UK today?
Egypt and Senegal know they are two matches away from a place at the 2022 World Cup, but both would have preferred to avoid each other as they look to seal a spot in Qatar.
A two-legged tie will decide who qualifies and these two sides are certainly familiar with each other.
It’s less than two months since they met in the Africa Cup of Nations final. It finished goalless after 120 minutes of action, before Senegal won the penalty shootout to clinch the trophy for the first time ever.
Egypt have played seven World Cup matches in their history, most recently in 2018 when they lost all three group matches in Russia. They are still looking for their first win at football’s biggest tournament.
Senegal managed four points in 2018, though that wasn’t enough to see them out of their group, while they reached the quarter-finals in style back in 2022.
Before either side can look to improve their records, they first need to earn their place in Qatar. That starts tonight with the first leg in Cairo, where Egypt will be looking to make the most of home advantage and take a step towards the World Cup.
