EE slashes over £300 off Galaxy S23 as smartphone drops to one of cheapest prices since launch

The season of new tech launches is fast approaching as both Samsung and Apple prep to host their 2023 autumn releases. Ahead of this week's Galaxy Unpacked event, one retailer has cut the price of the flagship Galaxy device, the S23.

EE has taken more than £300 off the total price for all shoppers who buy the handset with a specific amount of data. Customers who take out EE's unlimited data plan alongside the handset will get £336 off the Galaxy S23 plan, as it's reduced from £71 to £51 a month.

The deal is offered on a 24-month plan which will see customers pay £1,398 for both the S23 handset and 24 months of an unlimited data package. Comparing this total price to EE's unlimited SIM-only plan (£30 a month just for the data) customers end up spending £678 for the handset with this handset and data plan combination, despite it selling for £849 at Samsung.

It comes as Samsung hosts the Galaxy Unpacked Event in South Korea this Wednesday, July 26, as the firm is expected to announce newer models of its Z range of smartphones. Updated models of its current Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 handsets.

Although a newer range of S23 devices is not expected to drop this week (as the S range is launched in February each year) many providers, including EE, have started to launch some of their cheapest prices on the handset.

Vodafone is another provider offering a seemingly hard-to-miss deal on the standard S23 device. Highlighted by Mobiles.co.uk, Vodafone are offering £115 off the price of the handset for customers who take out the 100GB data plan alongside the device.
