Edge: Disappointing update on Hall of Famer's immediate WWE future

Edge is now expected to take a prolonged period of absence away from WWE TV after being attacked on Raw last night.

Last night’s show was main evented by a match between Edge and Dominik Mysterio, which came off the fact of Dominik’s recent heel turn.

The match ended via DQ, with Edge being attacked with multiple chair shots to the leg, which could have been used to write him off TV.

As noted, Edge was brutally attacked by Judgement Day during the final portion of last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

Judgement Day rushed the ring during the Hall of Famer’s match with Dominik Mysterio, attacking him with a steel chair, focusing heavily on his leg.

As you can see from the footage below, the multi-time WWE Champion suffered several nasty shots from the chair, which commentary suggested may have left him with a broken leg.

While not 100% confirmed, the speculation amongst many within the wrestling community, as shared by WrestleTalk, is that the attack will be used to write Edge off WWE TV.

This idea was also brought up by Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, who explained that due to clauses within Edge’s contract, it’s quite likely that he’s now going to take some time away from TV.

The thing with Edge though is, because he’s got a limited contract so he’s not around weekly, it felt like this was another injury angle.

Edge’s contract, as the quote from Meltzer above claims, is for limited dates, so this won’t be the first time that he’s taken a prolonged period away from WWE TV before returning for a big match.
