Eddie Howe urged to make two changes to his Newcastle United starting XI for Brighton game

Newcastle supporters think Eddie Howe should make two changes from the side that swept aside Brentford last weekend. The Magpies executed a flawless performance to climb four points clear of the relegation zone, with some suggesting a surge towards the top half could be on the cards.

One of the key talking points ahead of the clash is whether Toon talisman Allan Saint-Maximin will make an anticipated return from a calf injury. Howe revealed at his pre-match press conference that the maverick winger is back on Tyneside after a trip to France for rehabilitation but said he must pass a late fitness test to have any chance of playing.

That did not stop Newcastle fans from naming Saint-Maximin in their team to face Brighton at the expense of Jacob Murphy, who has started the last two fixtures. Supporters are also calling for Javier Manquillo to be brought back into the side following his return from injury.

Like Saint-Maximin, the Spaniard picked up a knock in the 1-0 win against Aston Villa last month and has since lost his right-back berth to Emil Krafth. The duo are backed by Newcastle fans to earn a recall when the teamsheets are announced at 2pm.

Jonjo Shelvey, Joelinton and Joe Willock - Newcastle’s new ‘triple Jo’ combination - have also received support from Magpies fans for their impressive displays in recent weeks. New £40million man Bruno Guimaraes must continue to settle for a place on the bench, according to ChronicleLive readers.
