Eddie Hearn: Katie Taylor victory would be one of Ireland's greatest

Eddie Hearn feels that a Katie Taylor victory over Chantelle Cameron on Saturday night would be "one of the greatest victories of all time from an Irish fighter."

After losing via a majority decision to Cameron at Dublin's 3 Arena in May, Taylor is widely viewed as the underdog ahead of the pair's rematch on Saturday.

Matchroom Boxing chief Hearn feels that the Bray boxer will enter the the bout with a completely different mentality to the one which she carried into the venue back in May, and that much of the home crowd will feel the same.

"I think that was a celebration last time," Hearn told RTÉ Sport. "There was a lot of people in the crowd, maybe coming for the first time, that actually just expected it to be a routine victory (for Taylor).

"Now, she's the underdog. You imagine the atmosphere when you've got somebody who is not expected to win.

"In boxing, people only see a Chantelle Cameron victory on Saturday night. So, if Katie wins, it doesn't come down to a homecoming, it doesn't come down to a celebration in Dublin, it comes down to one of the greatest victories of all time for an Irish fighter.

"She's done it time and time again, she's been written off, she's come back, she's broken doors down, she'd paved roads for the future, but on Saturday night she could do it all again and this would be her greatest victory yet."

For her part, Taylor isn't feeling any pressure, despite Hearn's conviction that a victory would be momentous.
