Ebbsfleet United boss Dennis Kutrieb says his recruitment is almost done after triple signings leave squad in a position of strength

Ebbsfleet manager Dennis Kutrieb says there’s only one more place left in his squad.

The Fleet boss continued his summer signings in the past week by securing former Gillingham defender Luke O’Neill, centre-back Haydn Hollis from Chesterfield and Kidderminster winger Omari Sterling-James.

It’s a Fleet squad bursting with experience and quality and it will take a special player to force their way through the door in pre-season.

It’s a position of strength as far as Kutrieb is concerned.

“We will have a look and adjust if we need to,” he stated. “I would say we’ve got one more spot left if we want to do something.

"We have a few things on the table to see if it makes sense or not, but not more than one player - and it might be no one.

“The good thing is I don’t need to worry as we already have 23 very good players in the squad. We just need to add on if we have the feeling that it would be a perfect fit for us. That’s a good situation to be in.

“The good thing is we can have a look at trialists if we want to. We don’t need to make a decision on a video basis, we can bring them in and have a look at them.

“It’s even better for us because we can have a deeper look and see how they get on with the team. He can have a look at how we do things.

“It’s a win-win situation for me in every thought of mine. We need to make sure if we do something else that we make the right decision.”

Kutrieb’s signings are certainly a statement of intent, the towering Hollis should help solve Fleet’s vulnerability to crosses, O’Neill will replace the void left by Tobi Adebayo-Rowling’s move to Notts County, and Sterling-James will add an extra dimension in attack.
