Eamonn Holmes says 'it was impossible' as he confirms show axe with Ruth Langsford

Eamonn Holmes has confirmed that a show fronted by him and his wife Ruth Langsford has been given the axe. The former This Morning stars presented How The Other Half Lives on Channel 5 for five series and even landed a Christmas special.

The super-rich programme, as the title suggests, saw Eamonn and Ruth meet multimillionaires and billionaires as they go about their daily activities of driving fast cars, travelling by private jet and going to exclusive parties

But 63-year-old Eamonn has now revealed there are no plans to film another series. He told The Sun: "Sadly, the series fell victim to the pandemic - it was just impossible to get across the world to meet very rich people - and there are no plans to revive the series now.

"But I do feel privileged to have been a part of it and to have met people in parts of the world that are no longer accessible. We got to spend time with some extraordinary people, including a billionaire and his wife in Ukraine and some of the richest people in Moscow.”

The news comes weeks after Eamonn's fans suggested his latest achievement is a response to 'all the haters' as he was seen clutching onto an award after sharing an apology. The GB News host was out on the pink carpet this week as he attended the 2023 Tric Awards.

And it was a successful afternoon out for the broadcaster and his co-host Isabel Webster as the pair headed up on stage on behalf of the GB News team when they were presented with the Multichannel News Programme award.
