DWP £150 disability Cost of Living payment to land in bank accounts from next week - date, who is eligible and more

People claiming certain disability benefits will receive a cash boost from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) from next week.

According to the government department, over 6.5 million people will benefit from an extra £150. It comes after the chancellor announced his plans to encourage people with disabilities on Universal Credit to work more with the scrapping of the Work Capability Assessment.

Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Mel Stride MP, said: “This payment helps protect those who need our support the most, providing a vital financial boost to six million disabled people. Our multi-billion-pound package of support reinforces our commitment to help UK households with the rising cost of living. It comes on top of record increases to benefits and the national living wage.”
