Dutch GP: Lance Stroll hints at different strategic approach for Aston Martin this weekend
Lance Stroll has suggested Aston Martin might need to think a little outside of the box strategically as we head into the Dutch Grand Prix weekend.
The second leg of the triple-header takes place on the Dutch coast at the popular Zandvoort circuit, which made an exciting return to the calendar last year.
Indeed, it was a real party atmosphere as the Dutch welcomed Max Verstappen and co. to the circuit, and they’ll surely up that even more now that they have a home world champion.
For Aston Martin, meanwhile, the job will be to try and pick up points if they can, though the early suggestion is the tight and twisty nature of the circuit might not be the most kind to their car compared to some of their rivals.
That said, then, Stroll has suggested that some clever strategic thinking might be needed for this race, with him saying via the team’s official media channels:
“I am looking forward to returning to Zandvoort. The track is spectacular, and whole event is really cool.
“We know it will be challenging this weekend, due to our car’s tendency to race better than it qualifies and this circuit’s twisty nature, which makes overtaking difficult.
“But there might be the chance to try something a little strategically different to our main rivals.”
