Dublin & Na Fianna mourn death of Jimmy Gray
Former Dublin hurler and footballer Jimmy Gray has died aged 93.
A founder of the Na Fianna club, he was goalkeeper on the last Dublin team to play in an All-Ireland hurling final in 1961, and later served as chairman of the Dublin County Board and Leinster Council.
Dublin lost the All-Ireland decider to Tipperary in '61 but they did win a Leinster title that same year.
After retiring from playing, Gray held several key administrative roles. He was chairman of the Dublin County Board from 1970 to 1981 and chairman of the Leinster Council from 1990 to 1993.
He also managed the Dublin senior hurlers from 1993 until 1996.
Na Fianna posted a tribute on social media, tweeting: "CLG Na Fianna is sad to report the passing of Jimmy Gray - founding member and former Charman CLG Na Fianna, former Chairman Coiste Átha Cliath, former Chairman Comhairle Laighean. Funeral details not yet available. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam."
