Dubai Basketball donate ticket proceeds from Bosnia relocation games to charity

DUBAI: Dubai Basketball have announced that all ticket proceeds from their relocated home games in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be donated to humanitarian initiatives supporting local communities across the country.

The UAE-based club were forced to relocate their home fixtures at the beginning of March due to regional developments, temporarily moving their games to Bosnia and Herzegovina during what the club described as one of the most challenging periods in their history.

What followed, however, was an outpouring of support from cities including Sarajevo and Zenica, where local institutions, venues and fans welcomed the team and helped transform unfamiliar arenas into temporary homes.

Upon arriving in Sarajevo, Dubai Basketball pledged to donate all ticket revenue from their matches through the Pomozi.ba Association Treatment Fund, according to a press release from the club on Tuesday.

The club have confirmed that the initiative will cover all nine games played in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the relocation period across both the EuroLeague and the ABA League.

According to the club, the funds will support two key humanitarian programs: the Fund for the Treatment of Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Meal for All initiative, which provides medical treatment, essential care and daily support to vulnerable individuals and families.

Dubai Basketball said the initiative was designed as a gesture of gratitude to the communities that supported the team during a period of uncertainty and displacement.
