Du Plessis banned for three games after Kendellen red card
Vodacom Bulls hooker Bismarck du Plessis will serve a three-match suspension for the red card he received against Munster in the United Rugby Championship last week.
The Bulls ran out 29-24 winners against Munster but the game was marred by a horror clear-out from du Plessis on Alex Kendellen.
The Munster number 8 was lifted by the legs by du Plessis who then threw him up over his shoulder before dropping him head first onto the ground.
Du Plessis received a red card at the time and at a disciplinary hearing today, that card was upheld, although it was decided that the offence was at the low end.
His previous disciplinary record of just one red card in 374 professional games and his acceptance of the red card saw his punished halved.
As a result the South African will miss just three games and having already served two games of that ban, he will be available for both of his side's URC clash with Dragons and Ulster.
