Driver fined for 'inconsiderate' parking outside primary school

A motorist was slapped with a ticket after parking their car across a junction and double yellow lines outside a primary school in Stretford.

The car was parked haphazardly, obstructing the road close to Kings Road Primary School and prompting police to urge people to have consideration for others. Greater Manchester Police took to Twitter to complain about the illegal parking and ask motorists to be considerate when parking near schools.

In a picture of the offending vehicle, a number of children can be seen in the school yard at the school on Kings Road in Old Trafford, which caters for four to eleven year olds.

GMP Stretford posted: "This vehicle was issued a ticket due to how it was parked outside Kings Road Primary School. Please be considerate when parking near schools. Thinking about those who need to get to school, the children and local residents. We are all busy. But we need to think of each other."

Twitter users rejoiced at the ticket. Mary Patel posted: "Thank you so much for addressing this behaviour. It's persistent and makes it so dangerous for our children crossing these junctions and makes life difficult for other drivers." While Joe Powell replied: "Impound it!"
