Drew hits ton in South Australia run-fest

Daniel Drew completed his maiden first-class ton in only his second Sheffield Shield match to help South Australia post a healthy first innings total on day two of their clash with Victoria.

A nervy Drew took nearly three quarters of an hour to advance from his overnight 96 before reaching three figures.

South Australia were eventually dismissed for 366 just prior to lunch on day two on a flat Adelaide Oval deck.

Drew upped the ante after reaching his ton and was eventually caught from the bowling of Mitchell Perry for 130 as the Redbacks lost 4-19 to end their innings.

Drew's 153-run fourth-wicket stand with Jake Weatherald (122) highlighted day one's action, following failures for Test pair Travis Head (0) and Alex Carey (11).

Perry (4-57) and breakthrough Test star Scott Boland (4-61) took the bowling honours although the latter was unable to add to his four-wicket haul on day one.
