Dramatic moment bouncers pin woman to ground outside Northern Quarter bar after 'biting and spitting'

Dramatic footage shows bouncers pinning a woman to the ground outside a Northern Quarter bar.

Video captures doormen from the Black Dog Ballroom, in Church Street, restraining the reveller at 3am on Sunday.

Witnesses heard shouting at them to let her go, as one of the security team remained on top of the woman asking them to stand back.

A bar spokesperson claimed the woman flew into a rage after being refused entry for "being too intoxicated".

The popular city centre venue said staff were unable to release her as they claim she was "spitting and biting".

She was later arrested on suspicion of assault by police shortly after 3.19am on Sunday.

A spokesperson for the Black Dog Ballroom said: "We are aware of the incident that happened in the early hours of 27th February, the footage you are referring to is of members of security restraining a female following a vicious attack on them.

"The full incident, which started due to a female being refused entry for being intoxicated was captured on CCTV.

"It involved a violent assault on a member of security team which left them with no option to restrain the female whilst they waited for the police to arrive.

"They were unable to release her because she was biting and spitting.

"When the police arrived they released the female unharmed. The police detained the female."
