Double bronze for SA's Evans, Piketh at World Bowls Indoor Championship
South Africa pair Jason Evans and Colleen Piketh won bronze medals at this week's World Bowls Indoor Championship at the Bristol Indoor Bowling Club.
The duo will take a lot of positives and confidence leading up to this year's Commonwealth Games, set from 28 July-8 August.
Piketh, who is a four-time Commonwealth Games winner, lost to Scotland's Claire Anderson in the singles at the last 16 stage.
The South African came back strong in the mixed pairs semi-finals where they competed against Scottish duo Anderson and Michael Stepney on Thursday.
Piketh and Evans won the opening set but the Scots came back and won the second 8-6 to set up a tie break, which South Africa lost.
Evans then was up against Stepney in the men's singles semi-finals, but came undone by the Scot, who went on to win both sets.
Stepney would go on to win the men's singles final and claim gold.
In a much-anticipated return to international competition, two bronze medals from the three formats will go down as a successful event for the top South African duo.
