Dortmund 2-4 Rangers: Alfredo Morelos scores brace in Europa League thriller
Scottish champions Rangers famously beat Borussia Dortmund 4-2 away from home on Thursday evening.
In the first leg of their Europa League play-off clash, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side produced an absolute masterclass at Signal Iduna Park to take control of the tie.
Rangers got the ball rolling just before the half-time break, James Tavernier converting from the penalty spot in the 38th-minute after Dan-Axel Zagadou was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area following a VAR review.
That was far from the end of the first half drama, though, as Alfredo Morelos managed to put the visitors 2-0 ahead in the 41st-minute.
After Rangers won a flick-on from a corner, the Colombian striker stepped in and rolled the ball into an empty net from just a few yards out.
His celebration was as passionate as you’d expect from him…
Of course, Alfredo Morelos was going to have his say in Dortmund!
