Dorka Juhasz, key reserve for UConn Huskies, leaves women's regional final with apparent wrist injury

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — UConn women's basketball forward Dorka Juhász went down with an apparent left wrist injury early in the second quarter of Monday night's Bridgeport regional final against NC State.

Juhász grabbed an offensive rebound and attempted a putback when she appeared to fall on her wrist at the 6:19 mark of the second quarter.

UConn's athletic trainer was immediately called over before Juhász, in visible pain, ultimately left the floor with a towel over her wrist.

Entering Monday, Juhász was averaging 7.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 20.4 minutes per game for the Huskies.

Juhász, a 6-foot-5 forward, played her first three years of college basketball at Ohio State before transferring to Storrs in the offseason. She came off the bench Monday and made an immediate impact with her energy on the glass (two rebounds) and a layup to help UConn extend its second-quarter lead.

The Huskies, who were visibly shaken up by the injury, managed to extend their lead to 10 before NC State cut the deficit to six at the half.
