Donny van de Beek planning to join Everton permanently to avoid Man Utd bench hell

Donny van de Beek will look to turn his back on Manchester United for good and secure a permanent move to Everton this summer if he helps keep them in the Premier League.

Van de Beek has joined the Toffees on-loan from United until the end of this season, but is reluctant to go back to Old Trafford this summer.

The Holland international is revelling in the chance to showcase his skills after being handed regular starts by new Everton boss Frank Lampard.

And he has no intention of going back to United to sit on the bench next season.

Should he continue to flourish at Goodison Park, van de Beek will push to join the Toffees full-time, provided both clubs can agree a fee and Lampard's men avoid relegation to the Championship.

Van de Beek joined United from Ajax in 2020 for £35m and signed a deal keeping him at Old Trafford until 2026.

United could decide to cut their losses on someone who has failed to make an impact, but would look to recoup around £20m for the midfielder.

Van de Beek says he is feeling 'energised' since moving clubs and he said: "It's like a new start. This gives me a lot of energy and, you know, if you see the way the club is on the table, they want to go up.

"Me also as a player, I want to go again to show what I can do. I think this combination is good."
