Donington BSB: Race weekend statistics, facts and pub ammo

Donington Park has hosted 78 British Superbike Championship races with those races seeing 27 different race winners and 49 different podium finishers.

Bradley Ray’s first two career BSB victories were taken on the Donington Park GP circuit in April 2018.

The first round of the Showdown saw Ray extend his championship lead from 13 points to 40 – but only 51 points cover the first four riders in the championship standings.

Three podiums at Oulton Park last time out saw Tommy Bridewell move onto a career total of 69 and overhaul the late Steve Hislop’s tally of 68. Bridewell now sits in joint 8th overall on the list of all-time podium finishers and just two behind Chris Walker’s total of 71.

Bridewell’s victory at Oulton Park last weekend made him the eighth different winner of the 2022 season.

With the exception of Rory Skinner, all of the riders contesting the Showdown have now won at least one race this season.

Bradley Ray now has ten career BSB victories, the same number as James Whitham, Michael Laverty and Alex Lowes.

Glenn Irwin took his 27th career BSB podium at Oulton Park, the same number recorded by 2000 BSB Champion Neil Hodgson.

Lee Jackson now has two career BSB victories, both of them coming at Oulton Park.

Andrew Irwin’s last BSB win was on the Donington Park GP circuit in October 2020.

Shane Byrne has won more BSB races (8) at Donington Park than any other rider and is followed by Niall Mackenzie and John Reynolds (both 6), Scott Redding (5) and Chris Walker, Michael Rutter, Ryuichi Kiyonari and Leon Haslam (all 4).

John Reynolds and Shane Byrne have taken the most podiums (16) at Donington Park followed by Leon Haslam (12), Josh Brookes (11), Chris Walker (10), Niall Mackenzie, Steve Hislop and Jason
