DOAMF announces 13th charity golf tourney

The Daniel Ogechi Akujobi Memorial (DOAM) Foundation is set to hold the 13th edition of its Annual Charity Golf Tournament on February 24, 2024.

With the theme: ‘’Sponsor an indigent but intelligent child,’’ the goal of this year’s tournament is to lift fifty less privileged children from the streets and put smiles on their faces by providing educational scholarships.

For over 16 years, the foundation has embarked on a journey to touch lives in tackling some of the challenges faced by the less privileged, especially children and youths, in underserved and neglected communities across the country.

In response to the foundation’s call for support, corporate and generous individuals partnered its intervention programmes in the areas of free healthcare, accident/emergency services, and education to the downtrodden.

These programmes continue to positively impact many marginalised communities, particularly vulnerable children and youths, and improving the quality of their lives.

In addition to the scholarship support scheme, the foundation also organised vacation counseling and mentorship programmes for its beneficiaries.

These programmes have spurred the children to succeed in their academics and beyond. Other complementary programmes include, inter-school debates and awareness on sexual abuse and dangers of illicit drug usage.

Also, free medical outreaches were held at Mushin, Inyishi, and Amaimo communities in Lagos and Imo states respectively.

These were supplemented with donations of food, relief and welfare materials to orphaned and abandoned children, de-worming and vitamin supplements for children within several public primary schools, and other healthy living programmes last year. Over 90,000 lives were touched during this
