'Do not rule out a late move' - Newcastle tipped for big swoop; deal can be 'easily arranged'

Football journalist Ryan Taylor has claimed a late move from Newcastle United for Jesse Lingard cannot be ruled out in the dying hours of the transfer window.

The Toon have been linked to the Manchester United ace this month, with his future being questioned amid his contract situation.

And despite the two clubs reportedly being unable to find an agreement on a fee for a potential loan deal until the end of the 2021/22 campaign, Taylor has insisted not to rule out a possible move.

“But Lingard’s out of contract in six months, and at the moment, he’s not going to sign a new deal. So, if Newcastle pay a reasonable figure – not the £12m that was being quoted to them by United – a deal could probably be easily arranged.”
