Display at Man Utd 'won't be enough' for title - Liverpool's Klopp - ESPN

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND — Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said he expects more plot twists in the Premier League title race after his side salvaged a 2-2 draw at Manchester United on Sunday.

But United fought back with superb goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo that meant Liverpool had to rely on a Mohamed Salah penalty to salvage a much-needed point at Old Trafford.

The result leaves the three sides at the top of the table divided by just a point, with Arsenal ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.

When asked if he expects twists in the title race, Klopp said: «It is likely… You have to win a lot of football games. You cannot do what we did today. That will not be enough, definitely not, but we know that. Still, if you work with human beings if you have to just take the things you get.

»I saw the boys wanting. I saw a top team today in a difficult away game. A lot of teams usually come to United and people care a little more, but for us coming here it's game one, it's tricky."

Liverpool have been in closely-contested title races on multiple occasions under Klopp, most notably in 2022 when both City and Liverpool went months undefeated before Guardiola's side won the title by just one-point.
